Activate New Site

To create a new replication site, you have to perform its configuration in APM.

The configuration must be carried out on the main site first and then on a new site. Data must be identical.

The configuration includes the following operations:

Add New Site

To add a site as well as to define its properties, first, log into APM. Within the application, navigate to the Setup ribbon tab > Adonis Replicator. The following working space then appears on the screen:

Now, make sure to be in the Site Properties tab, where you can get started by following the steps below:

  1. Click the Add button on the ribbon. Clicking the button enables the fields to fill out:

  2. Click Save on the ribbon to proceed.

Add Communication Channels

The communication channels define what tasks/data are being sent from the host to the satellite and vice versa. Therefore, within the replication setup process, one site needs to be defined as the main site or HOST. The main site contains all data, and it distributes changes made by one Satellite site to another Satellite site.

Between the Host and the Satellite, the system defines two channels:

Besides, the communication channel keeps track of the last replication date/time and assigns the archive sequence number. The sequence number of the archive file is used to import the files in the correct order.

To add the communication channels, first, on the left-hand pane, navigate to View 2 > Communication Channels:

On the main site, all the channels for all sites must be listed. For a satellite, only two channels are required.

Follow the steps below:

  1. Click the Add button on the ribbon. This enables the fields to be filled out:

  2. Click the Save button on the ribbon.

Add Channel Direction Types

To define channel direction types, on the left-hand pane, navigate to View 2 > Channel Direction Types:

On the working space, proceed as described below:

  1. Click the Add button on the ribbon. This enables the fields to be filled out:

  2. Click Save on the ribbon to proceed.

Add Connection to Satellites

On performing all the necessary setups in Replicator Manager and APM, you can now add more connections in Replicator Manager.

Before getting started, make sure the main site can access all the sites. In other words, the following points must be met:

  • The IP address is provided, and Adonis Replicator is shared.

  • Ports are open for file transfer.

All the connection details per site are available in the ReplManager.ini file.

To add connections, follow the steps below:

  1. Run Replicator Manager.

  2. On the left-hand pane, right-click Services and Connections. This opens the menu:

  3. In the menu, select Add New Connection... The Connect to Replicator Service dialogue then appears:

  4. Within the dialogue, you can define the connection and authentication properties:

  5. When done, click Connect.
