Adonis Proof of Concept (PoC) vs. Sandbox Agreement


A proof of concept (POC) is an early-stage demonstration that something will work as intended. It’s used to verify that Adonis Software can achieve the desired outcome for a prospect or a customer.

A Sandbox is a testing environment that the prospect/customer gets access to and can set up to test the Adonis Software.


During a Sales phase, Adonis offers Prospects or existing Customers the possibility to buy a Proof of Concept or a Sandbox agreement. This article describes the difference between the two agreements and the responsibilities of the Prospect/Customer and Adonis

Proof of Concept - PoC

Description of PoC

A PoCs agreement means that the Prospect or Customer will purchase a service where Adonis Consultants sets up a demo system that covers agreed-upon scenarios.

The cost of the Proof of concept will be charged even though the prospect or customer does not continue with the functionality in scope.

The following steps will be taken in a Proof of Concept phase.

  1. Prospect/Customer provides a description of the scenarios they would like to see covered in the demo

  2. Adonis verifies received scenarios

  3. Timeline and scenarios agreed upon

  4. Quotation and PoC agreement signed

  5. Adonis Consultant sets up a demo system and the scenarios

  6. A demonstration of the scenarios is given by Adonis

Prospect/Customer Responsibilities

  • Payment for the PoC agreement as agreed

  • Provide details of the scenarios that are to be covered in the PoC

  • Availability of resources to clarify scenarios as needed

  • Notification to Adonis if a scenario is no longer needed to be covered

Adonis Responsibilities

  • Have a system to demo the scenarios in

  • Provide a presentation of how Adonis can cover the scenarios

  • Communicate any gaps found between the Adonis system and the scenarios

Sandbox

A Sandbox agreement means that the Prospect or Customer will get access to an Adonis Cloud environment where they can set up the system as wanted.

They will also get access to a consultant that will provide training and assist with the initial setup and configuration, according to pre-defined sessions and functionality.

A Sandbox phase is limited by an agreed-upon timeline.

The cost of Implementation hours in the Sandbox Agreement will be deducted from the main contract agreement. Any costs related to the environment will be billed monthly and is non-refundable.

The following steps will be taken in a Proof of Concept phase.

  1. Prospect/Customer provides a description of the functionality they would like to set up during the Sandbox phase

  2. Adonis verifies the received information

  3. Timeline, functionality, and sessions are agreed upon

  4. Quotation and Sandbox agreement signed

  5. Prospect/Customer is given access to the environment

  6. Adonis Consultant holds the agreed-upon sessions

  7. A final revision of the Sandbox environment and agreement is done at the end of the agreement,

Prospect/Customer Responsibilities

  • Payment for the Sandbox agreement as agreed

  • Provide details of the functionality they would like to setup

  • Availability of resources to attend the agreed-upon sessions

  • Availability of resources to do the agreed-upon configuration and setup

Adonis Responsibilities

  • Provide an Adonis Cloud environment for the Sandbox

  • Hold the agreed-upon workshops

  • Assist with Configuration and Setup for the functionality included

  • Have available resources for assisting with showstoppers
