Setup

Inputting Crew Effects Codes

Before starting working with the datagroup you need to set up Crew Effects codes, Crew Effects views, and Measurements.
Go to the Setup > General Codes > Crew Effects > Crew Effects Codes and add the codes you need.
To create a new code, click the NEW button and input the following data in the window that appears:

Code is a unique code of the Crew Effect record.
Text is the name of the Crew Effect record.
Sort defines the order of crew effect codes appearing in the list when a user creates new records. The codes with the smallest Sort figure will be shown first in the list.

  • '0' means the very first.

The Sort figure is also used for defining the views (see Defining Crew Effects Views section).
You can also select an Alternative for this record and select between the options None/Wine/Cigarettes/Spirits in the IMO Declaration section.
Click OK to save a new code.

In the same way input the needed number of Crew Effect codes.

Defining Crew Effects Views

After inputting the codes, it is possible to set up several Crew Effects views.
Views are the separate pages displayed in the datagroup.
They show only those records that were defined by the administrator. He also defines what columns will be seen in the view grid.

  • If no views were defined, a default Overview view will be available.

When setting up Crew Effects views, we advise you to create All view, showing all the records.
You can also add several other views that can group the records according to some logic and customer convenience.
Select Crew Effects View in General Codes, click the NEW button, and input the following data in the appeared window:

  1. Enter Code and Text (will be shown as a title of a corresponding page).
Include Groups. Please define what crew effects codes will be included in the view. You can input figures separated by coma as well, e.g. 12,14,90
0-999 means that all the crew effects codes with a Sort value between 0 and 999 will be included in this view.
If nothing is defined in this field, all crew effects codes will be shown in this view.

Security Code field. When a security code other than '0' is defined, it is possible to set up different access rights (Read, Write, None) to this view for different users' levels. This can be done by an administrator in Adonis Control Centre > General Codes > Crew Effect View

  2. View Grid > Columns Definition - in this section you can specify what columns will be shown in the view.
    Click

and select the Heading from the list.
    Click

    to delete the column.

Click OK to save the view.

Defining Measurements

It is needed to define the measurement codes to distinguish between liter for alcohol, a piece for telephones, packs for cigarettes, etc.
This can be done in General Codes > Crew Effects > Measurements.

Click the NEW button and input the following data in the window that appears:

Enter Code and Text.
Sort defines the order of crew effects measurements appearing in the available list when a user creates new records.
Is Passive: if checked, the code becomes unavailable for use.

Click OK.

Functionality

The Crew Effects datagroup allows storing information about a person's possessions, like mobile phones, video cameras, cigarettes, etc.

To access it, you should have corresponding rights set for routine 330 Crew Effects in Adonis Control Centre:

The buttons under Manage/right-click menu are self-explaining:
New creates a new record.
Select a record and click Open if you want to check/edit it.
Record details will be opened also if you select a record and double-click it.
Edit the needed information and click OK to save the changes.
Delete removes the selected record.

The views that were set up for the Crew Effects datagroup (in General Codes) will be shown as separate pages (see Setup section).
In our example, we defined one view – All Items – to see all records in one place:

Adding a New Record

Click the NEW button and input the following data in the appeared Details form:

Select Code from the available drop-down list. Start typing the first letter and the system will suggest you a variant.
Enter the Brand and License number.
Type the number of items and select Measurement.
If you want, you can leave some comments that other users will be able to read here and in Notes datagroup.

Common Entry Function
You can also create several similar Crew effects records for several persons (tag needed in crew list).
You can do it via Tools > Common Entry > Crew Effects or you can right-click tagged persons and select Common Entry > Crew Effects in the appeared menu.
The same Crew Effects details window will appear. Input the data and click OK to save:

A record with the same data will be created for the persons you have selected in the Crew List.
