Adding Customized Report Group

The Report Generator module contains various customized reports grouped by their definition into sections/categories (payroll, planning, reporting to authorities, etc.):

So, you can easily find needed report under known topic/category

To add a new group, open Setup > General Codes > Report Generator > Customized Reports Groups.

To add a new group Click New button in the Ribbon Menu.
The same is accessible from the Quick Access Menu by right-clicking in the setup section.

The setup window will open up. It contains three main sections.

General Section

  • The Code should be numerical.

  • Type Text- will be the name of the customized reports group.

  • Sort – to define the order of the groups in the Report Generator module. '0' means the very first.

  • Is Passive, set to make this group hidden.

  • Security Code - used to set up access to a Customized Report Group.
    If it is blank or '0', this group is accessible for all the users on every security level.

  • It is possible to restrict access. If the Security Code for a group is other than '0', this group appears in Adonis Control Centre > General Codes > Report Generator> Customized Report Groups:



    It is necessary to either give Read / Write access for this Group if users on a particular level should be able to see or use it, or leave it with None access - in this case users will not have access (will not see) to this Customized Report Group.

Available in Module(s) and Databroup(s) section

Check the necessary Modules/ Datagroups in the Available in… list.
In our example, we set Crew Change module.
As a result, all customized reports added/imported to this group in Report Generator will be available in Crew Change module under Print button, where you can preview/print needed one.

Document section

This section is used to have possibility to send customized report (usually payslip) to crew-members and attach it in Enclosed Documents Datagroup.

Please note, not every customized report can be sent by e-mail, it must be designed/modified to have such functionality. Please contact Adonis Help Desk for details.

If we set Reports used in Employee e-mail module option the below Available in section becomes disabled:



Document Type - allows that emailed report to be also stored under person's Enclosed documents as other scanned documents. You can define a document type to be set for such generated report.
Define Sender E-mail address.
As a result, this report group appears in Report Generator module and in Crew List module > Email Report, where you can manage/set up and send customized reports:

Click OK to save new customized reports group.

User Interface

The Report Generator module is a place where you can import/store all your customized reports and then print them.

1. Reports List

List of various customized reports grouped by their definition into sections/categories (payroll, planning, reporting to authorities, etc.).
All group includes all reports from all categories.
Click any group and on the right, you will see all customized report added to this group with Name, Definition, Module (Group Name) and File Name (with report version in the end).

2. Ribbon Menu > Template section

This section contains commands to Import, Export and Send report file by E-mail.

3. Ribbon Menu > Report section

Contains controls for report management and configuration.

Preview – used to review selected report before printing it (or double-click report).
Print – used to print selected report without preview mode.
Edit – to update report name, description or move report to another report group.
Delete – to remove report from the group.

4. Ribbon Menu > Designer section

Contains Fast Report tool. 

You may need to modify an existing report. For this you should click Fast Report button to start FR Designer.
Browse for the correct report file, open the file and make the necessary modifications.
Note that starting from v.5.0 the uploaded report files are stored in the database table PWRGREPORTS.
To modify them you should first use Export to store the file to your local drive.

Note: Report modifications require special training and SQL knowledge.

Functionality

Report Import

The Report Generator module is a place where you can import/store all your customized reports and then review/print them.

To have a possibility to work here, you should have corresponding user rights set for routine: 101 Report Generator in ACC:

This section shows how to import a report in the Report Generator Module.
To import:

  1. Open the Report Generator from Modules or Reports.

  2. Click Import in the Ribbon Menu.

     

  3. Use Select Files to browse the path to your uploaded report file & check its description displayed below.
    Select the Default Group - a folder where all the uploaded reports will be placed.
    e.g. payroll, planning, reporting to authorities.
    If you miss such group, you add it under Setup > General Codes > Report Generator > Customized Report Group (see Housekeeping section).
    You can also define different Group and Country for each of the reports being uploaded insted of the Default Group.

  4. Click Import to upload the report.
    The report is now successfully imported and is available under defined group.

  5. Use Open or double-click to start your newly uploaded report.

The report should be first download on your PC, normally sent to your e-mail by Adonis Support (or from ftp area). The file should have extension like .fr3.

Report File Export

In case you need to correct or modify your customized report, you should inform support@adonis.no
Adonis Help Desk will need the report file to begin updating it.
So, you should export report file from Report Generator (save it on your PC) and send us (attach into the ticket).
Open the from Modules or Reports ribbon, you will see the list of existing reports split by various sections:


Select appropriate report group, needed report and click Export button.
Open needed folder on your computer and click Save.
You can also send the report file by e-mail, click command (your mail client must be set up correctly).

Report Preview/Print

Open the from Modules or Reports ribbon, you will see the list of existing reports split by various sections.
All group includes all reports from all categories.
Select needed group, double-click report you would like to generate or use Preview command under the Manage menu.



The report dialog window appears:

Please set up necessary report options and click OK to preview report.

Your dialog window settings will be saved next time you run report.

The Preview toolbar offers flexibility for its setup. You can customize the output format as per your requirements:

It is possible to print a report from a Preview window or save it to your computer in one of the exporting formats: .rtf, .pdf, excel and.csv.
It's also possible to export report to PDF; send by e-mail in different formats.
