Deviation with overlapping activities (not recommended)



When a person has to deviate from his original scheduled rotation, specific rules for how a person earns or use leave days comes into play. Such deviations can also incur additions to a person's wages.



Description



The following scenarios are considered deviations to a normal rotation:

  1. Crew change was planned for the 1st of April, however the vessel was delayed and the crew change occurred on the 6th. This results in: 

♦The person currently onboard will have to stay onboard 6 days extra, which has the following implications

  • The person should earn leave days for the 6 extra days, except on sign off

  • The person will get extra pay for the days, excluding the sign off day. 


  • Registration

    • The onboard activity is updated with the new Sign-off date, and the vacation is moved accordingly 

    • A Deviation Sign Off Later is created, covering the days - included the new sign off day

    • The activity for Deviation Sign Off Later will generate 5 days on entry code 116 Avvik fra turnus



♦The person currently on vacation will stay on vacation 5 days extra

  • The person should use a leave days for the 1st day only

  • The person will get normal pay for the days

  • Registration

    • The onboard activity is updated with the new Sign-on date, and the vacation is moved accordingly 

    • A Deviation Sign On Later is created, covering the days up until the sign on



  1. Crew change was planned for the 8th of April, however the vessel came into port early and the crew change occurred on the 6th. This results in: 

♦The person currently onboard will go on vacation 2 days earlier, which has the following implications

  • The person should earn leave days for the 6 extra days, except on sign off

  • The person will get extra pay for the days, excluding the sign off day. 


  • Registration

    • The onboard activity is updated with the new Sign-off date, and the vacation is moved accordingly 

    • A Deviation Sign Off Earlier is created, covering the days - included the old sign-off day

    • The activity for Deviation Sign Off Earlier will not generate any changes in payroll



♦The person currently on vacation will go onboard 2 days earlier

  • The person will earn leave days for the extra days

  • The person will get extra paid for the 2 days

  • Registration

    • The onboard activity is updated with the new Sign-on date, and the vacation is moved accordingly 

    • A Deviation Sign On Earlier is created, covering the extra days

    • The activity for Deviation Sign On Earlier will generate 2 days on entry code 116 Avvik fra turnus
