How to Export/Import Entry Code Table

You can easily export all the Entry Codes from one system and import them to the other by using Adonis Personnel Manager utilities.

Export

Make sure that you have selected the correct Oganization unit as current client before you export the Entry Codes. For example, you have Company A using one list of Entry Codes (Entry Code Table 0), and Company B should be using another list of Entry Codes (Entry Code Table 1). When you export Entry Codes for the Company B, it has to be selected as current client, otherwise the list of Entry Codes for Company A will be exported.

Go under Setup > Tables > Export > Entry Code, select a place on your PC, and save the file.

The file will be in the format of a DEF file.

Import

Make sure that you have selected the correct Oganization unit as current client before you import the Entry Codes. For example, you have Company A using one list of Entry Codes (Entry Code Table 0), and Company B should be using another list of Entry Codes (Entry Code Table 1). When you import Entry Codes for the Company B, it has to be selected as current client, otherwise the list of Entry Codes for Company A will be ruined with the import.

Go under Setup > Tables > Import > Entry Codes

Select the file, where you’ve previously saved it on your computer and start the import, you will see a message asking to confirm the action.

Next, the system checks if there is an existing list of Entry Codes for the current org. unit. If there is, you will receive a message informing you about it.

If you see the below message, do not continue the import or you risk losing the settings used in the system before.

Say “No” to this message, and double-check that you have selected the correct Organization unit as the current client for the import of Entry Codes. Normally, the import is used only for the org. units where the list of Entry Codes is empty, so this message does not appear.

If you don’t receive the above message after you agreed to import the Entry Codes, the system will proceed with the import and show you the progress bar, and also the info message on completion.
