This article describes how we can create a project(s) and link it to vessels/rotation plans.

Vessel Projects can be used for different purposes.

  1. To split the hours coming in from the Crew Portal per project.

  2. To assign a vessel to a project that for example requires, additional crew, certification, etc.

One project is associated with one rotation plan for one vessel. It allows specifying additional requirements for seamen included in the project.

To create a new project or find existing one(s), please :

  1. go to Setup > Tables > Projects Overview > Projects tab.

  1. Project Definition.

  2. Open the Projects Tab and click New.

    The Details tab should contain

  1. primary information, like: 

    • Project Code

    • Text (name)

    • Date from/to

    • Project Manager (Optional)

    • Color (optional).

    • Sort numbers are used for the program to know in what sequence codes should be shown in drop-down list when assigning project to the vessel/plan.
      For example, project record with Sort number ‘99’ will be shown at the end of the list, '3' - at the beginning.

    • Passive – set it ON if you want to make the code passive/hide.

    • You can also link the project to Project Type (added under General Codes > Vessel > Vessel Type, beforehand) and Project Header if needed.

  2. After entering all information, click the Savebutton.

Project Types

To be able to print reports where you can compare similar projects for different vessels, or just print a report for a specific project type, the system needs to know that it is the same type of project.
