“Setup” relations

Station Header – generic name for a safety group (e.g. Assembly Station, Fire Team, Medical, Sand-by, Lifeboat/Raft station).

Each station header should be linked to a certain location-appropriate type of assignment.

Location: divided into Decks and Zones.

Types of assignment:

  • Emergency – for general alarm, fire alarm, etc. Mainly involving all the safety crew.
When all the crew should come to their assembly stations.

  • Rescue – for abandon ship alarm. Mainly involving all the safety crew.
When all the crew should come to their rescue stations.

  • Secondary assignment – for specific Emergency and Rescue cases usually involving a small part of the crew team.
Man overboard, oil spill, chemical spill situations.

Stations – sub-groups within one safety group (e.g. Fire Team 1, Fire Team 2, Assembly Station A, Assembly Station B, etc.)

Duties – responsibilities of a crew member (based on the type of assignment) assigned to a certain station (can be different per station).

Instructions – generic plan of actions for people assigned to a certain station (can be different per station).

Additional Required Certificates (Medical/ Competence) – requirements applied that can be set per station in addition to Requirements Profile setup (for Competences) and set up on Organization (for Medical). Those requirements are applied only when assigning a person to Crew Station Bill.

Example of Stations Setup

“Muster setup” and “Setup” relations

Crew ID (also called Muster ID, Safety No) – is a unique identifier of a safety role in the Muster Plan.

Can be assigned to a default position or free selection:

  • Default position - Crew ID always belongs to a specific position. (e.g. Captain). When assigning to this Crew ID, the system by default suggests the selection of people with rank Captain. However, the system doesn’t forbid assigning any other position to this Crew ID in case of need.

  • Free selection – Crew ID is not assigned to a specific position. Can be assigned to any person on board.

Safety Level (configured under “Setup”) - is based on the number of passengers aboard a vessel. The more crew members are on board, the higher the safety level is. In case you have fewer people in your emergency or rescue plans, the safety level for a vessel goes down.
